A short history of the „Alte Alm”
The Schaidberg-Alpe has belonged to the Kirchgasser family since 1958. In those days when ski tourism was only just beginning and the summer was economically more viable, the „Alte Alm“ was already a popular meeting place for travellers, workers and locals. In the cosy snug home-made dishes were eaten, home-made schnapps drunk accompanied by traditional folk songs.

Even today, as the 3rd generation of the family, we’re still preserving tradition. Thus you’ll find numerous well-kept working tools, instruments and pictures in original condition. Many of our dishes are still prepared today according to old recipes.
Our schnapps is home-made to a high standard using traditional methods and is therefore only available in limited quantities. Come and taste for yourselves.
We wish you an enjoyable meal and a pleasant stay.
